THE WALKING DEAD SUCKS THIS SEASON! *RAGES*, or How I Don't Care About Your Pea Pods, Riiiick!

Season 4 of The Walking Dead was so anticipated due to the ensnaring excitement of Season 3, that many fans couldn't wait until premiere time. But after watching 6 episodes of the new season, I'm feeling a lot like this...

Yes, thank you Walking Dead writers, for figuratively spitting me in the face. This season is the slowest building, most boring, most repetitive in terms of storyline yet. It begins innocuously enough with a zombie flu that is spread all around the refugees of Woodbury through tainted water. Oh and Glenn also has it, but since we all know he isn't dropping dead and turning into a zombie anytime soon, it was just for suspense. Yeah, that was ultimately lost on me. Four episodes centered around the flu. It spread, killed people, they re-animated and a handful of the main cast exterminating them, while the other primary players mused about life and finding peace. Oh, and lots of boring conversations about farming, protecting each other, and staying strong. *vomits* Needless to say, I gave it a chance. I really love the characters and season 3 was so gripping that to see it descend into a mess such as this is really heart-breaking.

Watching The Walking Dead makes me feel how Glenn looks.
I mean, they introduced new characters just to be able to have people to kill off without an uproar, like when they killed T-Dawg (RIP DAWWG). And excuse me, but I am sick of every single person outside of the main cast not realizing that a) Zombies are dangerous, b)Killing zombies is necessary, c)The dead come back as zombies, and d)Things are not the way they were before this. I'm tired of new characters judging the group and being so ignorant that they all become damsels in distress that need saving all the damn time. I refuse to believe that these people have never had someone close to them/seen someone die, got attacked by zombies, or needed to defend themselves from said zombies. New characters add nothing to the fold, it instead forces loyal fans to memorize names/faces just to kill them off 20 minutes later. It's ridiculous and reeks of lazy writing.

The Walking Dead writers left us a cryptic message, but what could it mean?
And the group "leader" Rick is now a fucking farmer. A FUCKING FARMER!
What?
Oh, God, he's TORTURED! Let him find peace! His wife died, he's seen things, man! It's funny 'cuz Daryl and Michonne aren't cross-stitching or baking wedding cakes. I'm also tired of the poor tortured Rick storyline. Two seasons of that and it got old. Next! Shit is crumbling around him and his main concern is protecting his son. Too late for that! So what if he shot someone one time when he made a bad call. How many times has Rick made a bad call (Carol)? This kid is tough, and he's trained in firearms, let him shoot a gun! He is now protecting you!! Don't be butt-hurt because he stole your balls, Rick. Just stay eating those peas and blocking out the zombies gnawing at the obviously falling fence (spoiler: it fell. WOW. Didn't see that coming).

Pea pod, take me away...
So episode 5 ended with the Governor standing ominously outside the prison, and fans lost their shit. Tonight's episode finally revealed what happened to him, and attempted to let us in on what he has been up to, that blood-thirsty shit-bag. But alas! He has changed! He is helping a family get oxygen for their dying father! He is teaching a child to play chess! He is scared of zombies! He has a sympathy beard! Fuck that. 20 minutes in and I was like, "Are they really doing this?" Yes, they really did it. He is changed! He burned a picture of his family, signifying change and rebirth! A good man rose from the ashes of an old picture of his past! All of these exclamation points signify sarcasm!

The Governor is a ruthless asshole who had heads floating in a tank, tortured people, raped Michonne (supposedly) and left Merle to change into a walker. So he gets a fresh start? He also gets sex. Hm. Fuck you Walking Dead writers! This man deserves to be flayed and burned for the pain he has caused. I refuse to feel sympathy for a murderer, no matter the situation. He doesn't deserve sexual release, he deserves rusty spatulas shoved up his ass. No. Just no.

So in closing, I'm done. Next week's preview shows more new characters that will ultimately end up sacrificed in the name of blood and gore. This is so sad. What happened? It's not what happens when a show you become a fan of gets bad and you stick with it out of solidarity. It is a complete abomination and a departure from what you expect from The Walking Dead. The good guys win, and the bad guys lose. Nope, not anymore. They know better. I dunno if I can take anymore of this show, unfortunately. We'll see what the internet has to say tomorrow, but for now I'm tapping out. Farewell, Rick & Co. I really wished for more from you.

I'm not gonna let another episode hit me with a shovel of frustration.
